In 2009, Silje will release a new album called "A Thousand True Stories". The album is released in Norway, Silje’s home country on the 9th of February and international release will be in the Fall of 2009. The album was recorded with her band and the highly respected Metropol Orchestra from Holland, conducted and arranged by the American Grammy-award winner Vince Mendoza. This great new album came out of the collaboration on Silje’s previous album "Darkness Out Of Blue" (2007) when Mendoza and Silje first got to work together on two tracks. Now, the dream of making an album with a big orchestra has finally come

true. Look out for release of the album in your territory in the coming fall.

Silje Nergaard has been a songwriter all her life. At age 16 she entered the stage, joining a jam session at Norway's Molde Internasjonal Jazz Festival with a band comprising of ex-Jaco Pastorious musicians. National Jazz journalists applauded the talented artist. Ever since that day, Silje has developed as a composer and become very popular due to her unique voice and talent for songwriting.

The albums "Port of Call" and the following albums, "At First Light", and "Nightwatch" all have proved a resounding sales success. With "Nightwatch" she made history, since no other Jazz artist has twice shot straight into the Norwegian sales charts at No.1 within the first week of its release. In 2004 she was awarded the Norwegian music award: Musician of the Year.

Over the last years she has received increasing attention from abroad, as well as rapturous critics. Silje has worked with artists such as AL JARREAU, PAT METHENY & TOOTS THIELEMANNS to mention a few. Playing for her audience is important to Silje and in the last years, she has been touring Europe and the Far East with her extraoridnary band. With the release of the new album, “A Thousand True Stories” in 2009 – Silje will once again embrace audiences around the world with her music.
